Ventilation/Duct work cleaning

Duct cleaning Across the South West

The Workplace (Health Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 stipulate that mechanical ventilation systems must be maintained (including cleaned as appropriate) in efficient working order.

It is your responsibility to make sure that duct cleaning is carried out and clean ventilation systems are maintained.

Offices

Ventilation cleaning in your business premises is vital to maintaining your indoor air quality.

Dust, pollen, mold and bacteria build up in duct work over time. This build-up creates poor indoor air quality which directly affects the health of yourself and your staff.

If you have a build up of dust and debris in your duct work, it will also negatively impact the flow of air across your office space, resulting in lower staff productivity.

Duct work cleaning, is the process of removing dust and debris from the inside of commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, allowing them to operate a peak efficiency.

Kitchens

The regular cleaning and maintenance of kitchen extraction systems is essential for both hygiene and fire safety grounds. During a continued use over a sustained period grease and other flammable substances accumulate within the duct work, creating health and fire hazards.

HVCA recommends the following cleaning periods for extraction duct work

Heavy Use    –  12-16 hours per day –  3 Monthly
Moderate Use  – 6-12 hours per day – 6 monthly
Light Use – 2-6 hours per day – Annually
